Getting Started

I was quite proud of myself yesterday, while having coffee at my favorite haunt at my favorite part of the city, I wrote three poems, just like that! Thought of two more on the bus ride home. The people you meet on Whyte Avenue, always something interesting. I could write from my little room, my Virginia Woolf Room as I call at " A Room of One's Own", but getting out in the world in March is far more interesting. I see strangers and wonder about their life stories, where they came from, who they have loved and/or lost in their lifetimes. I especially like older people, as they have the most fascinating stories. Where have they been. Like my great Grandma, Mary. She died when I was two at 104. She had seen many things in her life, having been born in Canada during the time of the American Civil War. On her hundredth birthday, the only thing that she wanted to do was to ride in an airplane. I want to be like that at 104, if I make it to that age. I want to try new things and live a life of adventure and passion. I want to wear red leather pants at 80 and get a tatoo finally, mainly to shock my kids and grandchildren. And the people that I will hang with in those days....I was thinking of a pair of red lips on my butt, that way I can be cranky like Maxine and tell people to "kiss my a**. I am so looking forward to those days actually of being irreverent actually. Maybe I can start now. ....oh and I got red shoes yesterday....comfy but candy apple red.

Love the red shoes!

And the idea of a tattoo.... actually I entertained getting a henna type tat once ... but chickened out. I think at 90 I want to be 'hot' too.... red lips and all...maybe I'll get a nickname "hot lips"!
